With Spring finally arriving on our doorstep, we feel it’s the perfect time to lay out our 4 biggest suggestions for adventures to go on nearby. These suggestions are great not only for couples but for families and groups of friends too!

Phoenix Park

Our most famous nearby location, Phoenix Park has an abundance of things to do and see. Dublin Zoo is home to over 400 beautiful animals from around the globe. Learn about the issues many of these animals face in the wild and appreciate their immaculate beauty. Áras an Uachtaráin, home and workplace to the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins is just one of the park’s landmarks which is certainly worth a visit. With a bit of luck you might catch a glimpse of his beautiful best friend, his Bernese Mountain Dog Misneach. On your travels through the park take a little break and have a cuppa in The Victorian Tea Rooms, before checking out the beautiful Farmleigh House and the intriguing Magazine Fort. There is plenty for the whole family to enjoy! Keep an eye out for the park’s most famous residents, The Fallow Deer or go and have fun in the playground. Phoenix Park is just a short 10–15 minute drive from the hotel.

Guinness Storehouse

Experience The History, Heart & Soul of Ireland’s Most Iconic Beer. This is an intriguing opportunity to be educated on Ireland’s most famous export. While the tour is fantastic and the Guinness delicious, visiting Gravity Bar is an incredible opportunity to see many of Dublin’s famous landmarks from Dublin City Skyline. While this is an alcohol based experience, it is open to visitors of all ages and in turn offers everyone the chance to have a unique experience of one of Ireland’s biggest attractions.

Hill of Tara

With stunning scenery and engulfed in history, The Hill of Tara is made up of many ancient monuments which can mostly still be seen to this day. Stroll around the fields where you can find a fairy tree and more. It also contains a fantastic array of views of the hills of Meath, with a lovely café for you to relax after a stroll around the hill and a souvenir shop with many wonderful Irish craft & design pieces.  Located nearby is also J O’Connell’s Skryne, an almost 200-year-old family run pub often described as a step back in time which features in the iconic Guinness Christmas advert. Just a 30-minute drive from Castleknock Hotel, these locations are a wonderful spectacle regardless of the weather.

Easter Racing Festival at Fairyhouse

An incredible experience for all this Easter is at The Easter Racing Festival at Fairyhouse. Fairyhouse is home to the famous three-day Easter Festival which is taking place from Saturday 30th March  - Monday 1st April 2024. Each day features top class racing, all inclusive hospitality, live music and entertainment to suit everyone.
