When organising a conference for over sixty people based in three different locations in Ireland – Belfast, Dublin and Cork – we required a venue that would be convenient for everyone and that would minimise travel costs. The Castleknock Hotel became the preferred venue due to its ideal situation close to the M1 and M50 and its convenience to a commuter train line from Dublin city centre. We held a one-day residential course at the hotel, incorporating dinner and post-dinner drinks for sixty people. From our first approach to the conferencing team at the Castleknock Hotel, we were impressed by their professionalism and helpfulness. Ciara and her team were proactive in their attitude to helping us organise all aspects of the day (and evening). They were flexible with us in our preparations, actively encouraged us to come out and discuss room setup, and understood how last-minute issues were unavoidable, such as numbers changing almost daily. The feedback from the actual running of the event was first class – all agreed that it was perfectly located, the rooms were the right size, and the conference delegates were all comfortable throughout. Those who opted to play golf the next day also left happy! The food could not be faulted, and special note was taken of dietary requirements. The accommodation too was very suitable for this group of often-picky accountants! What was particularly pleasing to note was that Ciara sought our feedback on what could have gone better, which showed us that they were willing to go the extra mile and strive to improve further.
